It's Been a Long Time.....

Okay, so my sister-in-law encouraged me to update my blog. Thanks Andrea! It had been a long time since It's been updated. I'm going to be adding new pictures today so watch for them! So we've had an addition to our family in the last month. We now have a sweet black lab mix that we got from a rescue in Creston, Iowa. If anyone is looking for a dog, they are a wonderful place to get one! We're getting used to a big dog. It's been a bit of a challenge, but we love her to death! She is sooo sweet and smart. She is 6 months old. She has been great for our little wiener dog. They are great friends (most of the time).

So Alex started Kindergarten in August. He loves school! He's growing so fast! He lost 3 teeth last week! After the 3rd I got a bit suspicious of how those teeth were coming out! He's a great student and loves to learn. Yesterday he got stung by a bee at recess and had his first time going to the school nurse. He was real brave and didn't even cry. He did tell me that when the bee first landed on him he "screamed like a little girl."

Liam has enjoyed staying home with me but everyday wants to get on the bus with Alex. He asks where Alex is around noon everyday. He's always so excited to greet Alex at the door when he gets home.

So our last bit of big news is that Nate and I are partnering with his brother and opening a new business in town. It is called DirecTView. We are actually contracting with the company. There are no DirecTView stores in the area. Most of them are out West. Nate's sister and her husband have a store in Preston, Idaho and have been very successful. We decide if they can do it in a tiny town (where Napoleon Dynamite was filmed), then we want to try here in Omaha and the surrounding areas. So DirecTView is a preferred DirecTV dealer. For now we will be working from home but are working on opening a store in the area once things get rolling. I already made my first sale last night and we haven't even got our advertising going. I will be handling most of the sales and office stuff while my brother-in-law does installations. Nate plans to get trained to do installations in the evenings and Saturdays. So wish us luck....and if you're interested in DirecTV let us know! We've got some deals right now. :) We'll let you know how everything goes. We will be hitting several Expos and shows in the area after the new year. Nate and I feel like we might be crazy, but we have prayed about this opportunity and feel this is what we are supposed to be doing. It actually just fell in our lap. Nate will continue to work at his current company along with helping me out.
